Writing a game engine in C is reasonable. It's fast and can be ported to multiple systems. For example you could use for Android (with the use of the NDK). You could use it for the iPhone (Objective c is just an extension of c). You could also use it for and of the main OS such as Linux, Mac or Windows.

See More The engine has many features to create a cohesive realistic looking world. Dynamic water effects allow users to have beautiful oceans, fog and cloud effects allow for realistic weather, and a plethora of lighting effects optimized for natural looking scenes make Cry Engine one of the best engines for creating vast beautiful landscapes. So without further ado, let’s jump into the list of (3D only) game engines that (can) use C++ to develop games. The game engines, in no particular order: CryEngine . Lumberyard . Unreal Engine. C is great for game development. I'm working on a 3D platformer, and I've never had any problems with the language. The only problems are collision detection and shading, I just know nothing about them, they would still occur in any other language. C++ Game Engines News , Resources , Tutorials / September 29, 2018 August 1, 2020 / C# , Engine Due to it’s popularity in the professional game industry, I get all kinds of requests for C++ based game engines. If you’re a C++ master, then game development and engine building could fall into your lap more easily. However, if you’re a newbie at programming and coding, C++ isn’t a monumental task to undertake.

The course teaches you how to use the SFML library for C++, to start working with graphics, events and sound to create a 2D game. Everything is done step by

How impressive would it be to see under someone’s projects that they were/are developing or made a game engine?! I kneel before them in awe. You need to have a good grasp of what engines are. For example, you might get things mixed up. How would i go about making a game engine from scratch, i know that this is a very hard task and the final engine will not be able to compete with an engine like Unreal or Unity. I only plan to use this to get better at programming and if it helps i'm using C#.
